ABOUT
Sara’s Hair Etcetera owner, Sara Tubman-Valentino, knew that when she opened the doors to the salon in 2005, she wanted each client to feel welcome and at ease when they entered the salon — and to leave feeling beautiful and energized.
To that effect, she brought in a staff of happy, hardworking women: all professional stylists. Together, they make Sara’s Hair Etcetera the most friendly salon on Cape Cod.
Sara’s Hair Etcetera focuses on natural products and services, with a desire to create beauty in the least invasive way possible to the service provider, client, and the environment.

She also takes classes with Dermalogica, Glo*minerals, Redken, Tocco Magico,Paul Mitchell and many others.
When not at the salon, Sara enjoys spending time with her family and raising her two daughters, Isabella and Victoria, and their two cats and two dogs. On her down time, she travels to Maine to take in another view of the Atlantic Coast.

When not at the salon, she spends time with her husband Todd and her teenage daughter Victoria. Together, they live in South Orleans with many pets and even more local family.
NANCY MADDOCKS-SMITH
Licensed Stylist
After graduating from Blaine in the late 1980s, Nancy worked at several Cape Cod salons before joining Sara’s Hair Etcetera. She’s thoroughly enjoyed her long career in the beauty industry, with many of her long-term clients seeming more like friends and family.
When not at the salon, Nancy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially heading out to a dinner and a movie. She also loves zumba, yoga, and spinning at the gym.
MICHELLE STRAUSS
Salon Coordinator & Stylist
Michelle began her salon career, while in high school, working as a receptionist in her fathers hair salon in Connecticut. She attended The Creative School of Hairdressing, graduating in 1986. She worked side by side with her father for 15 years as a hairstylist and co-manager in his salon. During this time she attended International Beauty Shows for classes in styling techniques and product knowledge. When she expanded her family with children, she left the salon and took employment in a school system as an Instructional Assistant and eventually worked her way into an Administrative Secretarial position. During this time she would still work at her fathers salon per diem. She believes in positive, upbeat attitudes and strives to provide outstanding customer service. She is thrilled to have joined Sara’s Hair Etc. in 2018!
When not in the salon, her interests are decorating and gardening. She lives in Brewster with her husband and loves visiting their 3 adult children in Connecticut.
